Just Who The Hell is This Farley McDavidson?
Originally from Alabama,Farley McDavidson is the name that a local Phoenix area motorcycle racer picked up when he moved to
Ohio to pursue his AMA Flat Track racing career campaigning a Harley-Davidson XR-750.
It all started out as a bit of a joke but sort of stuck with him through the years.
After retirement from AMA racing,
Farley returned to Phoenix, settled down and began to raise a family.
But his desire for speed and excitement never ended. So it was not all that unusual when he ventured out
into the world of dirt track stock car racing, which eventually led to NASCAR sanctioned stock car racing on asphalt.
But a serious crash at Tucson Raceway Park in 2000 put a permanent end to the racing for Farley.
Farley returned to his motorcycle roots with a custom Harley street bike. One thing led to another and Farley soon found himself DJ’ing and hosting Karaoke at local Phoenix area bars, parties and events.
Without the demands of thr racing season, Farley finally made the trip to Sturgis,
taking along his biggest race supporter, his 72 year old Daddy.
“Popo” was up for the adventure, but not the 1200 mile motorcycle ride.
So they loaded up the truck and put the bikes in the race car trailer and headed to the Legendary Buffalo Chip Campground
for the Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. That was the start of it all.
One quiet afternoon while sitting around Sturgis...Farley set up some of his DJ equipment and began blasting out Classic Rock and Roll.
It was an instant hit with the other campers at the Buffalo Chip and thus was born the “Farley McDavidson Road Show”.
Sturgis and the Buffalo Chip are now an annual pilgrimage; and the music and party goes where Farley goes.
The ladies just naturally follow the fun.
Farley continues to DJ the local Phoenix bar scene in addition to special events, parties and private affairs.
In 2005 Farley DJ’d and MC’d for the Wild West Bike Fest held at Estrella Mountain Park in Goodyear, Az.
Farley again made the Sturgis Rally in 2005, but with a little added pizzazz.
The old race car trailer had been replaced with a 30’ fully self contained Toy Hauler trailer and there was also
the addition of the “Farley Mobile” golf cart. Not any old ordinary golf cart, but a jacked up customized one
complete with skulls, flames and H-D logos. It was a real hit at the Buffalo Chip with the concert crowd,
campers and especially the ladies.
For 2006Farley decided to kick it up another notch with the addition of the “Port-a-Party”.
Sort of like an old fashioned hay ride wagon on a smaller scale. It’s designed to be pulled behind t
he “Farley Mobile” and is a self contained sound system, complete with a dancing pole and optional girls.
Farley, his music, the “Farley Mobile”, “Port-a-Party” and optional girls,
are available for your entertainment and promotional needs.
In 2007August 2ndFarley and the crew are again headed to the Buffalo Chip Campground in Sturgis, SD for a week
of R&R away from Phoenix.
And just to keep things freash, Farley has kicked it up yet another notch with the addition of Two scaled down versions
of the classic Chopper/Bobber. One is Ruby Red with Flames, chrome frame & wheels, the other is all flat black
with red rims and both sporth the 3" wide whitewalls front and rear. You can check them out at the Buffalo Chip
during the 1st week in August or maybe at the September "RWTF".
